1.How did you manage the restrictions of the task?Consider process, material, colour, form.

-Today we were asked to create an A3 image based on a given letterform which was from incomplete alphabets..A monkey came into my mind immediately, since the letterform was like the number '3' in a irregular form.With a second reading, a toast appeared in my mind.We were asked to generate 5 ideas, but I came up with nine in my sketch book.Then we were asked to choose one turning to the image.I thought I can just choose my favorite one, which is the toast.However, when the teacher was setting an example,I realized that I forgot considering the scale.The letterform was in the middle of the A3 paper and we should create a complete image based on the paper with the letterform intactly.Moreover, only three colours were allowed to use: black, red and white(background).With these restrictions I had to reselect the ideas to find the most reasonable one.Finally,I chose to create a black pearl necklace with a red background.

2. Was your final image effective? For example did it clearly communicate a story/ telling a joke/ evoking a mood/ sharing an idea etc? If yes/no why.

--I found my final image was not effective yesterday.I create a single black pearl necklace but not any stories.It was just a icon in my mind and I had no idea of a story about that.In Day 2, we were asked to create a story based on the image we created yesterday and turn it in to a stop motion movie. in this case,I started to brainstorm.How can a necklace be narrative? I asked myself, by whom will usually wear the black pearl necklace and the symbolism of a black pearl necklace.The first idea came in my mind was royalty.Based on the research I have done yesterday,I found that the black pearl is fairly rare and it is something precious.A ball came in to my mind.Then I thought of a series of images of a storyboard : A woman wear a black pearl necklace attended the ball.A man was attracted by the black pearl necklace so he invited the woman to dance with him.The woman, meanwhile, was looking for a dancing partner.So she accepted the invitation happily and they dance all the night.The voice was a satire.The woman might thought the man was obsessed by her appearance while the truth, however, was owe to the black pearl necklace basically.Anyhow, a happy ending story was created.I was then not quite satisfied by the narrative and the happy ending.'How about a tragedy?'I asked myself.Therefore, I started to explore another possibility of the plot.Therefore, I thought about stealing and robbing .In the next few seconds, another story forms:One day a woman who was dressed jauntily with a black pearl necklace walking alongside the road.A robber appeared and set his sight on the necklace.Then he teared out the necklace from the neck of the woman and ran away.However, the necklace broke and destroyed as it was pulled out violently.Both the woman and the robber was upset.I decided to draw the second story with a storyboard and I was not expected that the teacher told me the story was too complicated to make a stop motion video.In this case,I tried to make it simple.I drew a black hand to represent the thief/robber to remove the pendant of the necklace.
